Pastor Tom Dunlap
I am deeply humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve as your pastor. Like Moses, my journey has included seasons of change, struggle, and growth, but through each step God has been faithful. I was not raised in church, and much of my early life was marked by transition, yet the Lord continued to pursue me and, in His time, called me back to Himself. Through the years—while raising a family, serving in different churches and ministries, and walking through my own wilderness seasons—God has patiently reshaped and resharpened my life for His purposes. My desire is simple: to preach God’s Word, pray for a harvest, and follow the Lord as He leads us together. I believe God is not finished with His people, and I am excited to see how He will use us to reach our community through His grace and strength.
2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Meet Our Members
Jerry and Beth McCreary
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has been an important part of our life, providing a place of worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Through the church, we have built lasting friendships, shared in meaningful service to our community, and strengthened our faith in Jesus Christ. Jerry has been blessed to serve the church in many volunteer capacities, including Treasurer, overseeing building and grounds maintenance, contact person, Prayer Chain, setting up the church for the weekly service and helping with church events. Beth attended this church as a child and came to love it at an early age. She has served as Recording Secretary, Diaconate, assists in preparing the tablet for on-line Sunday services, and enjoys helping during church events. These opportunities to serve have deepened our connection to the congregation and reinforced our commitment to the church’s mission. The love, support, and sense of family we have found within this church have been a true blessing, and we are grateful to be part of a congregation that encourages us to live out our faith each day.
Izora Ayers
Izora has several roles as a volunteer. As the Captain of the Diaconate, she arranges the schedule and ensures that the church is ready for Sunday Morning Worship. She is also in charge of God’s Little Pantry, first preparing the sack lunches and then stocking the Pantry with food and water.
